Putting on the biathlon is the result of much collaboration and team efforts. Each race is powered by volunteers running the range, safety certification, scoring, timing, and more. Volunteers are rewarded with free or significantly reduced participation in the events, and sometimes some nifty swag. Some of the volunteer positions can develop into paid positions.
